Registration Deadlines
August 19, 2026 (Priority Registration)
Register by this date to participate in the Pitch Development Workshop on August 26, 8-9:30am Atlanta time.
August 31, 2026 (Final Registration)
Last day to register for CIC Asia. Teams registering after August 19 are still eligible to compete but will not have access to the Pitch Development Workshop.
Team Formation & Development (Through September 20, 2026)
To participate in CIC Asia, work on forming a team at either your university or among universities. Work with the university's faculty fellow to gain feedback on your project. If your team is working with a faculty fellow, the fellow will coordinate interest to the CIC organizers. For teams from other universities, your interest should be pre-cleared by the CIC organizers by contacting us at cic@gatech.edu with your project overview.
Submission (September 21, 2026)
CIC Asia invites students to submit projects addressing broad social and global concerns within the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Additional references to associated SDG targets and IPaT research concentrations are welcome.
Competition Submissions
The Convergence Innovation Competition (CIC) Asia invites student teams to develop innovative solutions addressing global and societal challenges aligned with the competition's Areas of Interest.
Step 1: Register Your Team
Teams must complete the publicly available Team Registration Form to indicate their interest in participating.
- Priority Registration Deadline: August 19, 2026 (eligible for the Pitch Development Workshop)
- Final Registration Deadline: August 31, 2026
Step 2: Submit Your Project
The project submission form is not publicly available. After registering, teams should contact their institution's CIC Faculty Fellow or email cic@gatech.edu to obtain access to the official project submission form and instructions.
Project Submission Deadline:
Final projects must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026.
Judging Process
The judging process will include:
Round 1: First Round Judging (All Teams) - September 28 - October 15, 2026
The first round of judging will be a preliminary review of submission materials by domain expertise and judges with industry experience. This group of judges will determine the CIC semi-finalists.
Semi Finalist Announcement - October 26, 2026
The CIC planning team will contact selected semi-finalists as well as provide feedback to all teams via email by October 26.
Round 2: Semi-Finalist Virtual Pitches - November 2-11, 2026
Selected semi-finalist teams will conduct a 10-20 minute pitch virtually with a small group of judges. Utilizing the first round feedback from judges is encouraged.
Perfect & Submit Final Round Projects - November - January
Finalist teams will be assigned a mentor who will work with the team and the faculty fellow to continue developing the project for the final round.
Gala (January 22, 2027 in Vietnam)
CIC finalists conduct their final round pitch and answer questions from a panel of judges with expertise in entrepreneurship and innovation during an in-person gala event. Winners will be announced at the end of the event.
