Monitoring nocturnal insects and animals is a challenge that has several low-cost tropical jungle-based solutions, we show and help you assemble tools to monitor insect species in the field.  

AGENDA

Location: TSRB Bldg. Auditorium/1st Fl, Georgia Tech, Atlanta  (TSRB = Technology Square Research Bldg)
Dates: 28-29th October 2024

Day 1: Monday, 28th October, 2024

  • 9:00 AM: Introduction and presentation by Andrew and Yash, covering the Mothbox project, light pollution, and the importance of accessible science.
  • 10:00 AM: Break into groups and assign teams+introduce space and plan
  • 10:30 AM: Begin building Mothbox kits, with assistance from Andrew, Yash, and Bri.
  • 12:00 PM: Lunch break
  • 1:30 PM: Continue building Mothbox kits and provide one-on-one support as needed.
  • 5:00 PM: End Day 1, clean up workspace

Day 2: Tuesday, 29th October, 2024

  • 9:00 AM: Reconvene, review progress from Day 1, and address any questions or challenges.
  • 10:00 AM: Continue building Mothbox kits and provide one-on-one support as needed. 
    Software  
  • 12:00 PM: Lunch break
  • 12:30-2:00 PM: Finalize Mothbox builds, test the devices, and troubleshoot any issues.
