CEP Symposium 2023

CEP Research Symposium 2023

The Charlie and Harriet Shaffer Cognitive Empowerment Program (CEP) is a joint effort between Emory University’s Brain Health Center and the Georgia Institute of Technology to promote innovative research and therapy programs for people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), which is often a precursor to Alzheimer’s disease. The James M. Cox Foundation and Cox Enterprises, Inc. are supporting the new MCI Empowerment Program with a $23.7 million gift. Georgia Tech’s Institute for People and Technology (IPaT), SimTigrate Design Lab in the College of Design, and other programs and labs across campus are testing and refining new technologies and innovations in built environments that promote long-term health and independence.

The Charlie and Harriet Shaffer Cognitive Empowerment Program (CEP), a joint effort between Emory University’s Brain Health Center and the Georgia Institute of Technology, invites you and members of your network to attend the 2023 CEP Research Symposium taking place on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (EST) at 6 Executive Park Drive Northeast Atlanta, GA 30329. We are excited to be hosting this event in person for the first time, and look forward to welcoming people into our beautiful space.

The goal of the symposium is for researchers, stakeholders, staff, members, care partners and community members to share and discuss research aimed at empowering people living with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). We will take stock, move forward, encourage collaboration, and synergize the center's progress. Attendees will hear from CEP researchers, members and care partners about what we have been able to accomplish so far in our 3 years of operation. To learn more about the CEP, please visit http://ipat.gatech.edu/cep.

We hope that you are able to attend the symposium and ask that you share this invitation with the members of your network. And we look forward to collaborating with you!

Please note that registration is required  for all participants – the link for virtual programming will be sent out closer to the event date. There will be lunch available after the formal program ends to give the people who attend in person an opportunity to socialize and network. And parking is free!!

Note that in person attendance is limited to 50 people, so please register now to reserve your spot. Registration closes on February 13 at noon for in person participation, or when capacity is reached.
