2017 By the Numbers
Educating the Masses
The Petit Institute is headquarters for three interdisciplinary graduate programs (BioEngineering, or BioE; Bioinformatics; and Quantitative Biosciences, or QBioS), the Petit Undergraduate Research Scholars program, and Project ENGAGES, which serves students from local high schools. We’re also the administrative home of the Bioengineering and Bioscience Unified Grad Students (BBUGS), the largest grad student organization on campus.
Researchers and their Tools
The Petit Institute tackles complex research problems by bringing together engineers, scientists, and clinicians (from Georgia Tech, Emory, Morehouse, the University of Georgia, and beyond) to turn discoveries into game-changing solutions. All of that takes a lot of people, as well as dedicated research centers and state-of-the-art core facilities.
Events Events Events
If you build it, they will come. The Petit Institute has become ground zero for Georgia Tech’s bio-research community, but it’s also one of the most popular events spaces on campus.
