Breakfast Club Seminar

"Development of Nano-scale Drug Delivery Systems to Improve Tissue Healing"

Alyssa Panitch, Ph.D.
Professor and Chair
Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering
Georgia Tech / Emory University

The Panitch lab focuses on the design of biopolymers that improve tissue healing and regeneration. They focus on both intracellular and extracellular approaches to direct molecular and cellular processes. Broadly, their goal is to limit scar formation, be it vascular intimal hyperplasia, glial scarring, dermal scarring, fibrocartilage, or surgical adhesions, while promoting tissue repair.

The IBB Breakfast Club Seminar Series was started with the spirit of the Institute's interdisciplinary mission in mind to feature local IBB faculty member's research in a seminar format. Faculty are often asked to speak at other universities and conferences, but do not often present at their home institution - this seminar series is an attempt to close that gap. IBB Breakfast Club Seminars are open to anyone in the bio-community.
