TechMAKERS, produced in association with Melinda Gates, aims to empower the next generation of innovators to pursue STEM-related careers by highlighting five extraordinary women in aerospace engineering, artificial intelligence, robotics, and more.

Ayanna Howard, chair of the School of Interactive Computing and Linda J. and Mark C. Smith Chair Professor in the School of Interactive Computing and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, was one of five extraordinary women featured in the TechMAKERS initiative during the 2018 South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference in Austin, Texas. Produced in association with Melinda Gates, the TechMAKERS video series celebrates women who are breaking through the “Silicon Ceiling” and making cutting edge advances in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and aerospace engineering.
