Rebecca Terns
Director of Research Development
Rebecca Terns leads the Office of Research Development, which provides strategic and practical support for development and launch of large-scale sponsored research projects at Georgia Tech. She and her team provide strategic guidance, project management, content review, and special resources for the development of large proposals. They have supported proposals awarded over $500 million since 2020.
Prior to coming to Georgia Tech in 2020, Terns was a member of the faculty and research development office at the University of Georgia. She co-authored over 70 publications and several patents in fields of RNA biology including CRISPR-Cas. Terns received her B.S. in microbiology from Penn State and her Ph.D. in pharmacology and molecular biology from Northwestern University, and performed her postdoctoral research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
