New data center adds to Midtown’s Technology Square

Long regarded as one of the premier examples of public-private partnership, Technology Square is getting ready for some major new additions that will bring together academic research, private development and startup entrepreneurship.

Georgia Tech is planning to build a new High Performance Computing Center on top of the fiber optic corridor that runs through Midtown. This massive data center will provide the computing power that Tech’s faculty and students need for advanced modeling and experimentation. In a bow to sustainability, the large amounts of heat generated by servers will be used for office and retail space that will be included as part of the facility.
