If you have a materials-related research question then the IEN / IMat Materials Characterization Facility (MCF) is a place you should know.  Never heard of it? Then you should visit. Think you already know about us? Take another look. Over the past two years, the MCF has added new capabilities for X-ray-based structural and elemental analysis, EM imaging and in-situ analysis, and optical imaging measurement, and elemental analysis.  These new instruments add to an extensive existing toolset for investigating materials all the way down to the atomic levels with growing capabilities for non-ambient and in-situ measurements. The MCF will be opening its lab in the Marcus nanotechnology building to all interested current and potential users. The MCF staff will be demonstrating many of the new capabilities and discussing upcoming ones. Drop by to chat, see something new, or have a sample analyzed.

No registration is necessary, but there will be limited opportunities for samples to be analyzed. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity, please contact David Tavakoli to reserve your spot.
