IPaT Thursday Think: Through the Looking Glass

For the past two years we have been exploring the uses of a more responsive/interactive technology for video-conferencing and have recently concluded a user study of its application to CSCW. We will present initial analysis of the quantitative and qualitative data and discuss the interesting effects the system had not just on efficiency and effectiveness of collaborative activities, but how it affected the attitudes of participants toward each other (and towards the activity) and how their behavior and communication methods adapted.  The goal of this Think Tank is to have a conversation with the community about the future of this project, what implications these findings might have for immersive telepresence and what other types of applications could benefit from this technology.
