Dr. C. David Sherrill is a Regents’ Professor in the Schools of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Computational Science and EngineeringDr. C. David Sherrill is a Regents’ Professor in the Schools of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Computational Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech.  He currently serves as the Interim Executive Director of the Institute for Data Engineering and Science, after seven years as Associate Director.

Sherrill has published over 200 articles on topics from methods and algorithms in quantum chemistry to drug binding and machine learning in chemistry.  He is the lead principal investigator for the most popular open-source program for quantum chemistry, Psi4 (psicode.org).  

Sherrill is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the American Chemical Society, the American Physical Society, and the International Academy of Quantum Molecular Science.  He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Chemical Physics.  He has served in the leadership of the Division of Physical Chemistry in the American Chemical Society, on the Board for the World Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists, and as chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Molecular Sciences Software Institute.
