A Tour of the NSF AI Institute for Foundations of Machine Learning (IFML)

Abstract:  
We will describe the research vision for the new NSF AI Institute for Foundations of Machine Learning (IFML) as well as some of its educational and outreach components. We will discuss how algorithms will play a major role and give examples from recent work.

Bio: 
Adam Klivans is a professor of computer science at UT-Austin. He is the director of the new Machine Learning Laboratory (MLL). 

His research interests are in provably efficient algorithms for core tasks in machine learning.
