Srinivas Garimella

Dr. Garimella began at Tech in August 2003 as an Associate Professor and Director of the Sustainable Thermal Systems Laboratory. Prior, he was an Associate Professor at Iowa State University, an Assistant and Associate Professor at Western Michigan University, a Research Scientist at Battelle Memorial Institute, and a Senior Engineer at General Motors.

Martin Maldovan

Martin Maldovan

Martin Maldovan is an associate professor in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and the School of Physics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. He was also a postdoctoral associate and research scientist at MIT.  Maldovan’s group is developing novel heat and mass transport processes as an enabling technology for energy converter materials and devices, micro and nanoelectronics, chemical and biological separations, and catalysis.

A.P. "Sakis" Meliopoulos


A.P. "Sakis" Meliopoulos, Ph.D., is the Georgia Power Distinguished Professor in the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech and serves as Associate Director of Cyber-Physical Systems for the Institute for Information Security & Privacy. Meliopoulos helped the development of the power program at Georgia Tech by contributing to the modernization of existing courses, introducing new courses, initiating research activities, and developing continuing education programs and the Power System Certificate program.

Santiago Grijalva

Santiago Grijalva

Dr. Grijalva joined the Georgia Institute of Technology in the summer of 2009 as Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is the Director of the Advanced Computational Electricity Systems (ACES) Laboratory, where he conducts research on real-time power system control, informatics, and economics, and renewable energy integration in power. From 2012-2015, Dr. Grijalva served as the Strategic Energy Institute (SEI) Associate Director for Electricity Systems, responsible for coordinating large efforts on electricity research and policy at Georgia Tech. Rhett Mayor

Dr. Mayor is a distinguished expert in thermal sciences, electro-mechanical machine design, and micro-manufacturing. As the inventor of the DwHX cooling technology for electric machines, he specializes in the research and development of advanced power electronics cooling, electric machine design, micro-power generation, and sustainable energy systems. Alongside his technical pursuits, Dr. Mayor has a rich entrepreneurial backdrop, having navigated product-oriented tech startups and led multiple advanced research and development programs.
