The University of Mississippi is dedicated to developing new solutions for human health by educating future engineers at the interface of medicine and engineering. These future leaders cultivate and support the integration of engineering, science, and medicine towards discovery-driven problem solving. Towards this goal, the Departments of Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering are seeking well qualified applicants to fill a joint tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. We are particularly interested in recruiting qualified faculty in these research areas: 1) biodevice design, 2) mechanobiology, or 3) systems biomechanics.
The qualified candidate must have a Ph.D. in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline, with a strong record of research accomplishments, publications, and funding appropriate for their career stage. Candidates are expected to teach core undergraduate and graduate courses in biomedical and/or mechanical engineering, develop a sponsored research program, supervise graduate students, employ inclusive practices in their classrooms and research programs, collaborate with other faculty, and have a commitment to aulkner.
