    Dr. Collins is the Research Engineer for the Mechanical Properties Characterization Facility. He maintains the testing equipment, trains undergraduate and graduate students to use the facility, consults with users on novel and atypical testing requirements, and also conducts primary research for Georgia Tech, partnered academic institutions such as Emory, and external industry sponsors.

    Dr. Collins’ research areas include mechanical properties of thin and flexible materials, fatigue and fracture of aerospace and refractory alloys, and use of digital image correlation for surface strain measurements of composite materials, structural components, and thin film and flexible materials.
