FY22 IRIM/IPaT Aware Home Seed Grant
Active
The primary objective of the IRIM/IPaT Aware Home seed grant program is to spark a revitalization of healthcare robotics research in IPaT’s Aware Home. Proposals to develop infrastructure (including software) that will support interdisciplinary healthcare robotics research are encouraged, as are proposals that will develop research areas that are not well represented at Georgia Tech.

2021 Seed Grant Program – Building Teams and Moving Teams Forward
Active
There are two opportunities in this call – one focused on team building and another focused on moving teams forward. There will be approximately $750K of combined funding for each call, with due dates of April 30, 2021; October 15, 2021; and March 19, 2022.

2022 Cognitive Empowerment Program's Innovation Accelerator

The vision of the Cognitive Empowerment Program (CEP) is to revolutionize the experience of people affected by Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) by creating a comprehensive approach that can be replicated nationally and internationally. With the aim of speeding up the development, testing, and dissemination of evidence-based interventions for MCI, the Innovation Accelerator (IA) core is offering seed grants to support research in the following areas: therapeutic programming, technology, and the built environment.

Research and Engagement Grants for 2021-2022

The GVU Center and the Institute for People and Technology (IPaT), with additional support from GTRI, announce the call for proposals for Research and Engagement Grants for 2021-2022. As in past years, we will support two separate types of grant proposals: Research Grants will provide seed funding for new research collaborations, and Engagement Grants will provide support for new forms of internal and external community engagement and collaboration.

Spring 2021 GVU IPaT Seed Grants Request for Proposals

Georgia Smart Communities Challenge

The Georgia Smart Communities Challenge (“Georgia Smart”) is a funding and technical assistance program for local governments within the State of Georgia. Georgia Smart is a first-of-its-kind opportunity for communities of any size in Georgia to receive grant funding and support that enables them to envision, explore, and plan for their “smart” future.

The goal of this program is to engage researchers in thinking and working across disciplinary boundaries, as a means to generate the novel research questions and approaches required to address grand challenges.

Smart & Connected Communities Data Pilot Grants

The Institute for People and Technology is pleased to announce the results of our first Smart & Connected Communities Data Pilot Grant program. These pilot grants will provide funding for one semester to further interdisciplinary research within the area of Smart & Connected Communities.

Wearable Computing Center Engagement Grant
Currently Inactive
The grant program is open to faculty, students, and research scientists of Georgia Tech. Grants can be used to support the development of new hardware or new applications; fund the design and evaluation of new wearable technologies; or create new opportunities for internal or external collaboration, such as through workshops or speaker series.

Imlay Innovation Fund

The Imlay Foundation awarded a $5 million grant to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to establish the Imlay Innovation Fund, which will support the development of pediatric therapies in collaboration with the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Georgia Center for Diabetes Translation Research

The Georgia Center for Diabetes Translation Research (Georgia CDTR) is a collaboration of Emory University, Georgia Tech, and Morehouse School of Medicine, with funding provided by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and interinstitutional partners. The mission of the center is to facilitate and grow diabetes translation research at Emory, its partner institutions, and regionally. In alignment with this mission, this Request for Pilot and Feasibility Applications is a solicitation for small grant proposals that focus on Type II translation research in diabetes care and prevention.

CDC/Georgia Tech Research Awards

Georgia Tech and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announce the CDC/Georgia Tech Research Awards, which provides funding to foster scientific collaboration among Georgia Tech and CDC investigators. This joint effort is a CDC/Georgia Tech seed award program that supports pilot research in the form of proof of concept and feasibility projects that will advance the state of the science to facilitate scientific innovation (e.g. patents and publications), new external funding, and novel collaborative relationships.
